Biography

Mr. Abdisa Bancha Jara founded OICT Solutions in 2022 to give Ethiopian institutions a single partner able to advise, build, and grow with them. A Senior IT Expert and Social Entrepreneur with over a decade of transformative experience, he leads the firm across all five strategic business units and serves as principal advisor on the firm's largest institutional engagements.

His work sits at the intersection of technology and language access. He founded and coordinated Google Crowdsource Ethiopia, was recognised by Google as one of five young volunteers representing Africa in coordinating African language initiatives, and serves on Meta's Technical Consulting Team for East Africa. He has led the coordination work that enabled Afaan Oromo integration across Meta platforms, Telegram, X (Twitter), and other global digital ecosystems.

Internationally, he was awarded the Global Bronze Award for Best Project of 2017 at the Youth Citizen Entrepreneurship Competition in Berlin, participated as a delegate in the World Bank Group Youth Summit 2025, attended the 2024 IMF–World Bank Group Spring Meetings in Washington DC as a CSO representative, and contributed for over two years to Amnesty International's digital research initiatives. In 2026 he delivered the keynote address at the 6th International Oromo Studies Conference at Jimma University.

Philosophy

How he leads engagements

Evidence before intervention

No system is built and no structure redrawn until the diagnosis is on paper and agreed with the client's leadership.

Capability, not dependency

Every engagement is designed to leave the institution able to operate, extend, and govern what was delivered.

Technology in the local language

Digital inclusion means people using technology in their own language, a conviction that runs from his Crowdsource work into how the firm builds products.

Institutions as the multiplier

Strengthening banks, universities, bureaus, and broadcasters compounds outward into the communities they serve.
